“反人類中心主義”這壹概念已經被提出了很多年。人類中心主義在生態學意義上指的是將人與自然的關系剝離,將壹切尺度都以人類作為標準。人類中心主義是壹種主客體分離的表現。而當人類中心主義上升到宇宙這個維度的時候,會發生什麽呢?
最典型的案例便是各種各樣的科幻類作品中關於外星人的相貌的描述了。為什麽很少有人質疑:為什麽外星人會長成人類的樣子?為什麽外星人都有大眼睛和四肢?外星人壹定是碳基生物嗎?回答其實很簡單:因為他們是基於人類的形象進行設計的。人在觀看的過程中無意識用“人類中心主義”說服了自己,所以人們不再提問。
而萊姆在《索拉裏斯星》中打破了壹切以“人”為構想的設定。在創作的最初,我想以《索拉裏斯星》為藍本設計壹個交互展覽,完成壹個致敬萊姆的作品。
而在創作的過程中我發現不管怎麽創作,設定都不可能完全脫離地球而成立。
於是,我決定反其道而行之:虛構壹個星球和它的歷史,而這個星球充滿著地球的既視感。它和其他的故事中的星球相比並無不同,或許更甚:它的壹切與地球是那麽的相似!觀眾或許會懷疑,或許會猜測,但是觀眾極有可能在最終會說服自己這壹切都是合理的,像他們在看大多數科幻電影時那樣。而人們壹旦接受了這顆星球的設定和故事,觀眾便實實在在地完成了壹次“人類中心主義”的思維歷程。
當然,拋下這些內核,這個故事本身也會促使觀眾反思:這顆與地球如此相似,充斥著大量資源的星球為什麽會在人類歷史中消失?為什麽人們不能與它共存?真的是像新聞中說的那樣:因為“它充斥著太多未知和危險可能會對人們產生威脅”嗎?
這需要觀眾來尋找答案。
莊子有雲:吾生而有涯,而知也無涯。以有涯隨無涯,殆已。人類求知的欲望是無止境的,而當人們遇見理解的極限的時候,更應該向未知的事物保持尊重與敬畏。
The concept of "antianthropocentrism" has been around for years. Anthropocentrism in the ecological sense refers to the separation of the relationship between human and nature, and takes human as the standard for all scales. Anthropocentrism is a manifestation of the separation of subject and object. And what happens when anthropocentrism rises to the cosmic dimension?
The most typical example is the description of alien appearance in various science fiction works. Why do few people question why aliens look like humans? Why do aliens have big eyes and limbs? Are aliens necessarily carbon-based creatures? The answer is simple: they're designed to look like humans. As people unconsciously convince themselves of anthropocentrism while watching, they stop asking questions.
Lem, however, broke all assumptions about "people" in "Solaris". At the beginning of creation, I wanted to design an interactive exhibition based on The Star of Solaris to complete a tribute to Lem.
In the process of creation, I found that no matter how I created, the setting could not be established completely without the earth.
So I decided to do the opposite: invent a planet and its history, and this planet is imbued with earth's deja vu. It compared to other planets in the story is no different, perhaps even worse: it's all similar to the earth is so! The audience may doubt, the audience may guess, but the audience will most likely convince themselves that it's all reasonable in the end, as they do with most science fiction movies. Once people accept the setting and story of this planet, the audience has truly completed a "anthropocentrism" thinking process.
Of course, without these cores, the story itself prompts the viewer to ask: why did a planet so earth-like and filled with so many resources disappear from human history? Why can't people live with it? Is it really, as the news says, because "it is full of so many unknowns and dangers that could threaten people"?
It's up to the audience to find out.
As Chuang Tzu once said, "Life is long, knowledge is long. With the end, with the end, almost already. The human desire for knowledge is insatiable, and when people meet the limits of understanding, they should maintain respect and awe for the unknown.
壹旦對故事本身產生反思,那麽觀眾就完成“人類中心主義”到“反人類中心主義”的轉變。Once the audience reflects on the story, the audience completes the transition from "anthropocentrism" to "anti-anthropocentrism".
“反人類中心主義”,要求人們去人類中心化,將人們與其他生物擺在平等的角度去思考。所以當觀眾開始反思,開始對這顆星球的消失感到惋惜並將這顆星球的故事映射到現實生活中時,觀眾可以很輕松地類比人與當下自然環境的關系。所以,只有當觀眾完成了“反思”的過程,才算是完整地理解了這個作品。
“人類不是萬事萬物的主宰。”
"Anti-anthropocentrism" requires people to de-centralize human beings and put people and other creatures in an equal perspective to think. So when the audience starts to reflect, start to regret the disappearance of the planet and map the story of the planet to the real life, the audience can easily compare the relationship between human and the current natural environment. Therefore, only when the audience has completed the process of "reflection" can it be regarded as a complete understanding of the work.
